On keyboards, what is the grand Piano feature?
I’ve been looking at different keyboards, and the more expensive ones have something called the grand piano feature, but not entirely sure what this is?
It’s one of the best ideas Yamaha has ever come up with. A couple of years ago I bought a YAMAHA YPT-753 simply BECAUSE all but the very cheapest of the YAMAHA keyboards have that GRAND PIANO BUTTON which lets you go DIRECTLY to a Grand Piano sound from ANY other program that is running.. It’s a great feature and only YAMAHA has it.
The way YAMAHA creates the Grand Piano sound is NOT ELECTRONIC SYNTHESIS.. they actually RECORDED every note of a CONCERT GRAND PIANO then DIGITIZED IT and put it into ROM, so when you are PLAYING in the GRAND PIANO mode you are actually calling up REAL SOUNDS from a REAL GRAND PIANO and that is not how CASIO and other companies create their piano sounds.
